> List team categories in the current workspace, including unused categories. Use the returned IDs to organize teams and configure category assignments.

# List categories

Requires `teams:read`. Returns only categories in the current workspace, sorted by name. Categories remain available even when no team uses them.

Assign a category using `category_id` in [create team](/api-reference/teams/create) or [update team](/api-reference/teams/update).
